Creator in TGE 1.4

Can I ask for a little clarification as to what this Creator mod is in TGE 1.4? It doesn't seem to be optional, but I'm not sure what it does. (I searched the forums, but failed to find a discussion of it.) I guess I'm thinking that if it's not optional I'm not sure why it's not just part of the content of the common folder. If anyone could fill me in, I would appreciate it.

In my first post, I mentioned that it didn't seem optional, as when I tried to run my project without it, there seemed to be missing pieces, but perhaps that was specific to my project.

So in 1.4 it was moved out of the common/project folders, and into it's own folder? In my first post, I mentioned that it didn't seem optional, as when I tried to run my project without it, there seemed to be missing pieces, but perhaps that was specific to my project.

Yeah, we have to sit down and clean up that part of the engine a bit. We're trying to modularize the editors a bit more (oh yeah, and I bet deleting the creator folder makes it so people can't edit your mission/GUIs as easily. ;)

I didn't just delete the creator folder, but rather tried launching the engine without including the creator mod in the mod list. If it's planned to be modular, I would think that that should be the way to remove it. (That's when I seemed to be noticing some dependencies.)

ie, it's still RC so a lot of things are not working 100%. You're right, it SHOULD work that way, but it doesn't yet.

Could the creator be modified to be a "Sims" style in-game editor? like for construction and also rts-style building?

It _is_ in-game...? These are the same editors we've always had, just in an exciting new folder!
