Forum split!

Hey there, you all made a very smart suggestion that we split up the forums here. Good idea, we like good ideas. :) Forums are now split. Right now there are subsections for general T2D scripting questions, tiles, collision and physics, particles, and the Torque core stuff (GUI, platform, etc). Check it out.
Maybe not the best split in the world, but it'll work. If you have any more ideas on how to split 'em, feel free to share here and we'll take a look. As far as moving posts around, our forum system actually doesn't allow that very easily right now. But I'll take a look at what we can do.
I'm headed off for vacation for a week. Hopefully we'll get another 5000 posts or so while I'm gone!
So, enjoy the forums guys. I probably say this too much, but I can't help it: this forum rocks, thanks a lot for being such a great community. :)

I'm learnign that designing good art for a 2D game is SOOO very different than 3D (besides the obviousl technical differences).

Change "General T2D Scripting" to just "T2D Scripting" or "Scripting with T2D" or "TorqueScript" or something like that. I wouldn't use the word "General" in two forums right next to each other.

also a "Getting Started" one like in the TGE forums would be good :)

Chris has a good suggestion... unless you add another forum called "Avanced T2D Scripting" which the more that I think of it the better...also a "Getting Started" one like in the TGE forums would be good :)

I like John's suggestion for an art forum, though I'm wondering if it would work best as a subforum of T2D, or of the general art area.

Could we have a forum for C++ coding? This topic seems rather fundamentally different from the others, as coding requires more intimate knowledge of what T2D is doing under the hood.

I like the art forum idea also, but I dunno about the advanced scripting. How would I know when I'm doing something advanced?

I agree with Matt about not splitting up scripting into subsections.

Smaug, that would be the core engine subforum.I agree with Matt about not splitting up scripting into subsections.

EDIT:
Doh! I guess I didn't see the Collision and Physics section :P That's what I was looking for :)

I know there already is a math forum for TGE but it'd be nice, in my humble opinion, to have a T2D math subsection.EDIT:

Do you think a "How would I..." forum area would be good? Goal would be to share gameplay or particular ideas and ask how people would do them in T2D. Or, if you come up with something particularly clever (eg like the light rays in the Fish Demo), you could go share it there.
Too much overlap with ShowOff and/or Getting Started?
It's your forum too, so I figured I'd ask. Thanks for all the well wishes guys *actually leaves now*

Did some of these just now, thanks guys. Made a couple other changes too, I put up a suggestions forum, show off area. Pretty soon "General Discussion" will only be good for spam. ;)Do you think a "How would I..." forum area would be good? Niceness! Will there be any effort to sort out the posts previously made in this forum? I know that would be quite a chore but in the long run would def be worth it IMO

It's much more easy now to navigate through the posts.

Nice splitting. Does the Show Off subsection allow only finished work? If so maybe we need a W.I.P. section.

I think it gets a bit complicated then. I'd just leave the show off area as it is, and let people post both WIP and completed things in there.

Yes, lets leave it at that, I've already posted a WIP there. :-)
