Torque Pipeline for Cartography Shop - Beta 3 Released!

by Tom Spilman · in Artist Corner · 03/30/2005 (2:03 pm) · 5 replies

You can now download the beta 3 release from here.

It's new features include some better detection and correction of invalid geometry from cshop and support for the automap off flag. A bunch of bugs were fixed and exports should be consistent across the same CartShop session now. See the change history in the help file for more specifics.

Enjoy and please give me some feedback on it as it will be the last beta version if there are not any major issues. In particular go thru the help file and let me know if i've made any mistakes in my advice or description of entity properties.

Thanks guys!

Didnt read thru the whole help file this time, but it's really lokoing top-notch :)

The FAQ section was a great idea and all the pics and diagrams are good too.

I like the new logo, btw.

Pretty cool, I'm familiar with cartography shop and the author. Look forward to seeing how this develops, particularly if it gets to combine DIF and DTS the way I would like :) should be just the intermediate translation tool from my current engine and 3dsmax if all goes well.

I've got the CartShop5 beta and i plan on getting a DTS reader for CS5 working this weekend. Once that is in place you should be able to point CartShop at your DTS folder and you will be able to place any DTS shape into your DIF interirors. For now to make it work with Torque one would have to apply a code patch to your game, but it should be a very simple change. Eventually when Matt's interior code changes make it into HEAD the code patch won't be needed.

The timing for all this depends on how fast CS5 progresses and our own internal needs. But it looks like i may hold off on DTS instances until CS5 is released.
