Questions on Importing 3ds max to torque

by Danny Mejia · in Torque Game Engine · 03/29/2005 (4:07 pm) · 2 replies

I'm new to the torque game engine, I'm wondering how to add an object and it's jpg's or bmp's to the torque game engine to use them and the same for animated characters but mostly right now just simple objects and their textures? Post or email me at Dakar316@gmail.com if you anyone could help me out on this. THANX

On the right hand side of this window, there is a link titled "Edit Subscriptions". Click on it, and scroll down to the "Torque Art Public Area->DTS Exporter: 3D Studio Max". Click it, and then check out this link.

Also, check out the Torque Documentation...specifically, scroll down to section V, Modelling Tools.

The short answer is that you use an exporter to turn the model into a three space torque shape, otherwise known as .dts.

The animated character question is a loaded one. Definitely follow the resource link Stephen posted above though. It is how 99% of us learned what we know is from the documentation on the site.

If you have specific questions on what you can't figure out we can all help out though. Although most of it is well documented.
