Simple Question on T2D Purchase

I am experiencing some confusion as to which Torque2D License I should purchase (either the $100 or $80 license) due to an odd situation I am in and my impatience, so I figure I'll let you guys help me.
Here's the situation: I am a TGE Licensee, although TGE is currently on my desktop at home in Alaska. I am on my laptop (HP Pavilion zv5000) while vacationing in Florida, which I have yet to download TGE too. Mainly because I do not have Visual Studio 6 on this laptop. Now, I am wanting to go ahead and get Torque2D so I can play with it a little bit before I go back to Alaska. It's the perfect opportunity, I do nothing all day long, party all night, and don't have to worry about work, exercises, or being called at 2AM for an emergency deployment.
So, using the information provided above - which should I purchase if I am simply wanting to play around with it via TorqueScript? Is a TGE installation required? Remember, I don't have the ability to compile - does Torque2D come precompiled? I'm in a monetarily sufficient position to spend the extra $20 if need be.
Thanks in advance!
