I have been using dreamweaver on and off for about 3 years now but have nothing to show for it. Ive been tring to get some form of work as experiance (no pay required) but no body will accept me as they think im new. Has anyone got any ideas on how i could go about getting experiance. Thanks in advance.

The best thing todo in my opinion is to make examples, make a portfolio of your designs and work, or creat some.

As far as looking for work goes, look around small business's in your area see if they have websites if they dont offer your services. :)

Develop a portfolio. Find sites that you think you could do better and give it a shot. Think about the sites you visit on a daily basis, figure out what about them works for you as a user, and what doesn't, and develop mock-ups that fix the problems.

Then you can just point prospective clients to your portfolio.

EDIT: a day late and a dollar short, I see :)

On and off for 3 years with nothing to show? To me, that's the same as not doing anything. Why would any want you to work on their projects?

My recommendation would be to produce some sample sites to showcase what you can do. It doesn't matter if the sites are "real" or not. Just make up the content and create the work. Once you can prove that you can do the work, you might start getting more people interested in using your skills.

Yes, everyone here is right.

But moreover, BELIEVE IN YOUR SKILL!
If you don't think you can make something yourself or sounds weak it will shows and people will be afraid, they want to be sure the job will be done, and well done!

Also, yes it's scary to have nothing to show in 3 years! In 3 years with only one website per month you could have done 36 websites :-D

Don't give up, never! Good luck and keep us posted about your progress.
