Terrain Terraform Editor

Hi there
I'm going through the documentation and was messing around with the Terrain Terrafrom Editor...

Will the Terraform Operation always be applied to the whole of the landscape, or do I have a way to select only a area for the operation to effect?

I tried to use Select form Action Menu then Apply Terraform Operation but the whole landscape appear to change, not just the selected area...

just wondering if there is a way at all to limit Operations to defined areas

It's the entire landscape only as far as I know. other than that you have to hand modify local sections.

I tend to do a lot of work in terragen/ photoshop saving it out to bitmaps then import those and blend between them.
