Sound Problems OpenAL

I have noticed alot of problems with sounds in my game. music cutting out, sounds repeating over and over (like an anoying echo), and other wierd glitches.
I finally decided to try and update my OpenAl32.dll. I downloaded the SDK from creative and the sound seemed to work so I tested it on another computer and Torque gave me an error saying that I need to download the latest OpenAl drivers.
I again turned to the creative website and Downloaded the OpenAl runtime and installed it on both of my computers. Now the sound is even worse then before!?!? the menu music does not even play any more and cut offs are way more frequent.
I was wondering if anyone else knows how to get audio to function correctly or knows what the OpenAl run time installer "installs" on the system so I can remove it. (they give no uninstaller for it)
any help is more then appreciated.

Thanks billy. I reverted back to the old openal32 that came with Torque and it is working again. still a few minor issues but not as bad. any one have any ideas when the new dll may work?
