Hello,

My question is about this part of text :

"You must deliver all games you believe are ready for publication to GarageGames only, and you may not distribute copies of the games to any third parties (that is, people or entities unrelated to your company). Technology demonstrations or non-commercial products distributed from your site are OK, but if you make a game, it must be distributed through GarageGames"

I wonder what is the licensing agreement if i make a free
game ? I want to developpe a free game for gamers, without any paiement to use it ...

Pleaz tell me what conditions of use for the V12 technologie is written for ...

can you put the license in french version on your web site ?

ThanX

    Louen,
As I understand the agreement, a free game is a game. GarageGames wants you to send it to them so they can put it on their website for people to download. This is how GarageGames will generate traffic to their website and is in effect what will be paying for the V12 engine. Alternative methods of distribution may be possible if there is a reason the standard won't work well, but you'll have to speak with GarageGames about that. Several GarageGames employees surf these threads and I'm sure they will correct me if I am wrong.

    Best of luck,
    DonC.

We are too busy to localize the license text right now. Anybody have any great leads for getting this job done?

I know we have German and French members.

Just a related question which wasn't clear from looking at the licence... if someone want to distribute his game to the public (though GG, of course) does the developer have control over whether his game ends up in the 'pay bin' or not? That is, if the developer wants the game to be free, but GarageGames determines that it is good enough to sell, who makes the decision?

(Note that I already understand that it's GG's decision whether or not the game is good enough to sell, I'm asking what happens if GG want to sell it and the developer wants to give it away.)

As posted elsewhere, we are coming up with a list of criteria that will get a product into the "pay bin." These criteria are not content specific, but more related to proper installation, number of bugs, etc. You will be able to set your own price for these games. If you never want to charge for your game, that will be your choice.

We will also have a GarageGames Endorsed pay bin that is more representative of the type game content that we want to see.

This is so great. The new idea for the 'Pay Bin' is really exciting me.

I know you guys are really busy, so keep up the good work! And if we pester you with questions, it's just because of our irrational exuberance. :) :) :)
