Gid 10

Hi guys,

Sorry for the complete lack of publicity, but GID10 is this weekend. The theme will be made up as we go along. I expect it will be somewhat quiet since a lot of people are at GDC and the rather late "announcement."

Hopefully we'll be back to normal for GID11, things are kind of hectic here at the moment and I'm still suffering a bit from burn out. I also just realised that I still havent gotten the GID9 entries up on the site. I'll put those up with the GID11 entries. Sorry.

T.

Cool, I decided to start learning 3D programming tonight, so I might use the GID as an excuse to get further into it. So far I have a first person "game" where you walk around in a room with a bunch of pillars that you can't walk through. Yay!

I started to get mouselook in place but I think I have my X,Y, and Z all mixed up. =) Also, I think my scale is waay off, like the player would be the size of a 10-story building. I have no idea how to create or manipulate models, so I'll just going to stick with basic polys and some creative texturing (like "Attack of the Cones" or something).

Man, 3D is a whole other world coming from 2D (another dimension, even!)
