OpenAL + WinXP problems?

Does anyone know if there are any problems with OpenAL + WinXP.
Every time I try play anything that uses OpenAL (Torque, or Avoyd by Enki Software) it crashes, and its not just one machine.
I am not sure of the specs of this machine, but my home PC is a 1.4Ghz AthlonTB, 256mb Ram, geForce 3 Ti200, SBLive! and WinXP Pro (Build 2600). The game runs for a few seconds, then crashes and a dialog saying there is an error in openal.dll happens.
If I uninstall OpenAL it works fine again, but it is an annoying problem. I've tried looking on the creative and openal sites, but they don't have anything in the way of a bugfix, workaround or patch.

Could be your sound card drivers, they may not be 100% compatable with XP.
