Took me a while to "get" the game they were demo'ing. Still not sure I would buy it, music games don't seem to register with me.

I'll buy the first round. I was one of the original founding members and a member of the board. In fact, the name of the organization "Post Mortem" was my idea. And yes, I blatantly stole it from Game Developer Magazine :)

OK. Let's all agree to make the next one in January. The pattern is to alternate between Tuesdays and Wednesdays so the next one will be on a Wednesday. Bring all the members of your teams that you can and we'll swap code, scripts, and stories on how the engine works. I'll buy the first round. Hope to see you there! I finally got myself on the mailing list so I should be dutifully reminded when the time comes. Perhaps we should all wear identical items of intimidating/conspiratorial clothing? ;)

Dark grey suitcoats with a red carnation in the lapel would probably make us stand out like aliens on landing pad in Close Encounters :^}

Just how "darkly conspiratorial" would you like to be? Dark grey suitcoats with a red carnation in the lapel would probably make us stand out like aliens on landing pad in Close Encounters :^}

It sure would :)
I kinda like that, but I think my wife would think I had lost my mind :)

Hey thats great, I live in Chelsea. Less than a 10 minute drive to cambridge. I would like to go but I am to young :( 17. But Currently I am on the game design stages for the game that my team SystemSaga are creating. Currently I am building the website but here's the link anyways www.systemsaga.com. So maybe I can go? Just to see whats it like to be around gamer developers. Good to see game artists here in the boston area :)

Well, you might want to email the organizers about the age thing, it is mostly a 21 and over crowd and there is beer as well.Couldn't hurt to ask them though.

I hate excluding anybody who is interested. Maybe we could at least find a place near where it is being held to meet for a bit. Depending on where it is being held you might be able to get in - one place serves dinner. I'll check with those in charge and try and find out.

I'm in the area too. Stopped in for about an hour at the PM, but had to leave (Mac codebase and my contract job are keeping me busy...).
Christopher's shouldn't be a problem. Brewery downtown might be though.
BTW, I'm looking for content/demos of TGE to bring up on the Mac and possibly show off at Macworld early January. If anyone knows of some cool stuff, let me know.

The correct DATE is January 9th, 2002.
The correct time is 7:00 PM.
The correct place is Christopher's, in Cambridge.
The correct thing to do is be there.
They have a restaurant at Christopher's so everybody should be able to attend. See you all there. Missed the first one due to illness, sorry.

I'll bring mine if I can lick the video problem with my Mobility chip by then. Hell, I may just bring it anyway, ugly crashing graphics and all.

7:00 is the time when it starts (although most don't show till after 8:00.)
My laptop is worse than useless, tried new drivers and it made the graphics worse. So if anybody has a working laptop that can run torque bring it along! (I'll bring this one but it won't do anything useful unless I get lucky between now and 7:00pm.)
See you there.
