EdgeCount and vertexList$ of 2D images

I'm playing with the T2D tutorial and would like to setup collision for the other enemy ships.
setCollisionPolyCustom needs the edgeCount and vertexList$ of the image.
Is there a way to actually collect this data (possibly programatically or from a tool such as Paint Shop Pro) or do we estimate a polygon figure to resemble the image?

Maybe that tool should be posted as a T2D resource? I have no idea how that stuff works, though......

Actually, "viola!" makes no sense, either. :P It's funny, though. :)
