Er where are the tutorials?

Hi everyone

I guess the title is the question. I click the link and it goes to some TGE stuff.

Look in your doc folder. Lots of PDFs out there.

Yes, there are 4 PDFs in the /doc folder. Let us know what you think of 'em please. They are real rough and unpolished right now, but we're interested in tutorial feedback too.

If you have more docs you'd like to see, we're happy to take ideas. There's lots more we want to do. Probably first on the list is a quickie-doc on the particle editor. Then probably a more technically-oriented tutorial. (The current tutorial I'm pretty fond of, but it's targetted for the "get me up and running ASAP!" type of thing. Be good to have one that goes into more detail on how the code and systems work).

Of course, we'll be polishing the tech overview and tilemap editor docos. But hey... feels good to ship an EA product w/ almost 100 pages of docs. :) Best engine launch in those terms.

Hi - cool stuff so far but I'm looking for torque script docs. I've found one that says preview copy or something? Might want to include that with the next release. thanks

Hey Pete - yea I read the public preview as well, and it helped me a lot. I'd suggest you make sure you read it thoroughly

Hi,
where are the 5 tutorials that are supposed to be shipping with TGB? I cannot find them in my installed tgb folder/subfolders

Thanks

In the documentation folder, open the documentation overview html file in your browser. The menu on the left hand side lists the behavior tutorial section (2 game tutorials) and tutorial section (4 game tutorials plus 15 feature tutorials).

That's the problem, I downloaded and installed TGB 1.7.2 yesterday and all I can see is this

Main fodler: tgb
Sub folders:
- common
- gameData
- Resources (this one contains Art folders for the tutorials projects but no actual tutorial files)
- tools
- Torsion
- uniTests

then bat, log, dll, cs, exe files of course

I have no documentation folder, no PDFs, no html files

I did have them in the older version of tgb (not even installed anymore now) but this latest downlao didn't hold any or at least didn't install any... am I try to re-download and reinstall

cheers

OHhhh I got it....

I think what happened may be due to the fact that I didn't install TGB on the default path (not on my C drive usual Programs folder). I use a separate partition (F)for programs.

The documentation folder got installed here:
F:\Programs\documentation

while I was expecting to find it here:
F:\Programs\tgb\...

Well at least it is on my PC :)

Thank you for your reply
