Problems creating a server

Hello,

I'm testing out the FPS starter kit, and I'm finding that I'm not able to create a multiplayer game. I'm just trying to start a mission and I have the "host multiplayer" box checked, although no servers will show up on my friends computer. The same problem is happening for him. However with the demo, I am able to join multiplayer games hosted by other people, does anyone know what the problem might be or what I can do to fix this? Thank you!

Make sure the port is getting set

Alright thank you. But really you are talking to someone that has no idea about this kind of stuff. Can you tell me how to do that?

It's strange because in the console, it says "recieved request from master server" and "sending heartbeat to master server", but no one is able to enter the game.

My mistake. I recently found out that it was because my isp prohibited creating servers. Well at least now I know. Sorry about the false alarm.

Not sure how I missed your reply before because I usually follow up on these things. Glad to hear you found the problem. And just between you and me, I happen to know for a fact that ISP's do not usually block port 80, and most times they do not block port 8080 either. After all, if you cant surf the web, then why would you even need an ISP?

;-)

Just a little FYI for those that think they should be able to use the connection they paid for.
