Holy Terrain Batman!

Sorry for the god awful topic but it's one of those days.

I've been playing around with the ingame mission editor and am having problems when it comes to building structures that intersect with the terrain. Whenever i remove a section from the terrain it's always too large there doesn't seem to be enough fine control over a) the size of section removed or b) the mesh used to create the terrain.

From this picture here what i'd like to know is is it feasible to move the point on the terrain that i have selected and translate that in the X or Z plane as currently the tools only appear to "add dirt" or "excavate" (BTW love the updated editor).

If anyone has any information on this i'd be most grateful as it is hampering my tunneling efforts.

You are limited to the actual squares. It takes quite a bit of time and practice to get good at fitting bases, and even then it's still hard. I wish there would be an option coded in that just disabled terrain inside bases somehow :p Or at least made it have no effect on the players (visibly as well). Some tips for fitting:
In the mission editor mode the grid around the base is lined up with the terrain blocks, you can use that to align it parallel to the terrain. It's much easier to cut that way. Also use the paint option in the terrain editor and set the square size to 0 and the height change value (in settings) to 0.5. Then you can click around the base and whatnot to get things to the exact height you want them... If you really can't get it and it's a base you've made just edit the base and add a small block outside in that area or something.
