Hello all,
I'm looking for a beat all end all website thats almost like an encylopedia of all the computer games ever created. I did find one such site before. It didn't have all the games ever made but it had a lot. Anybody know of such a site. and are there any urls that have data on how much a said game made. I know about the NPD sales charts from gamasutra. but how long do they keep that info?

That was one of many games that totally changed me. There were like four games in a row from Origin that warped me horrendously and made me decide that I wanted to actually make games professionally: Wing Commanders I and II, Ultima 7, and Ultima Underworld.
I actually wanted to go work for Origin at one point based upon those games.

That's really cool that Underworld and the other Origin games had such an effect on you. It came out the year I got married (1992) and my wife Claire and I played UU together for up 18 hours a day at one point! Gotta love the real-time aspect of it (1 hour in game == 1 hour in real life). For us, it was the game that inspired us to design our own game also...
I came across another site that lists all time best PC Games - UU made number 5 on this list:

Moby Games is a pretty good archive. It lists loads of games, and you can filter them by category, year, genre etc.

Another place to find uncommon information on older games is abandonware and emulation sites. I don't promote them, but there's a lot there to fit in the gaps.
And there are a LOT of gaps to fill.
