How to Trash

I have been working with Torque and made a backup file in case I really mess it up. Then I tested some of the features to see what they do. I couldn't get Torque back to normal so I made another copy. But when I tried to trash the old one I got an error telling me the item mac osx was in use. So now its takeing up 200mb on my disk. Does anyone now how to trash Torque.

If you can't trash it from Finder, do it from Terminal. Or, you could try the Finder after a reboot.

Try holding down option when you select empty trash. as long as you account is an admin, it will often delete things that you can't due to permissions, etc.

Yea, it works wonders for deleting things where you've got one locked file or folder somewhere in there (prolly nested away), and you don't want to try and track it down. I think this works in OS 9 too.

Yeah, that's an old school trick. Back to System 7, I think. Unfortunately, it won't handle the damned 'file is in use' thing. There's a unix script (on MacOSXHints.com, I think) that will tell you what process is 'using' the file, but I usually just log out and log back in to clear that up. -Chilton

This is an OS X bug... usually have to restart or log out, as Chilton suggests.
