Search Forums Never Works Out Right

I view a Thread or Topic that I find interesting. The next day I try to find it again using the search options and they can never find the page/topic that I viewed yesterday. I am using keywords that I know are in the title and/or message body and still no dice. I have better luck finding threads at the Garage Games Forums using a Google Search. I have spend more hours searching for information than actually reading any in these forums.

IF there is a post that I find relevant to what I'm doing I hit bookmark and when the page thingy comes up I replace 'GarageGames - Forum Thread' with 'GarageGames - some relevant name here' and I put them in there own folder
Another thing that I do is make a small post in the forum so that I can go to my member info and look at the posts I made comments on.
Just an idea

The way I get around it is when I find a thread, resource, or comment that I find useful, I e-mail myself a link of that, with a couple word description of it in my subject line, that way later I can browse my e-mails by the ones I received from myself and look at the subjects to pick out what Info I want to get

For resources that I'm currently using pretty heavily, I use the "My Shortcuts" thing over on the left of the page. It has serious issues, but if you only have a few links in it it can be pretty useful. I wish that whoever codes the Garage Games website would code the "My Shortcuts" thing so that either 1) links used the title of the page instead of crap like "View Resource" or 2) you could choose custom names for the links in the "My Shortcuts" list. Either way it would be vastly more useful.
Anyway, for any Mac users out there who want to search the Garage Games website via Google, you should use iSeek. Here's how:
- Download it (link here) and install it.
- Click this link
You can assign whatever hot key you want to it. Great little utility.

Subscribing to threads that you are using heavily can be nice, since then you get a link on the "My Garage" page. Of course, you get an email every time one of those threads is updated, which can be annoying. For resources that I'm currently using pretty heavily, I use the "My Shortcuts" thing over on the left of the page. I think everyone has issues with this... I believe this has been discussed a number of times in the past and I believe that someone is working on a re-write of the webpage, but as to who that is, when it will be done or what state it is in, I have no clue.
I noticed that you said you use google... I'm sure you already know this, but for those of you that don't: putting "site:www.garagegames.com the words you want to search" (minus the quotes) into the google search field will limit your search to the garagegames website...
Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
