Turning off lights

At the moment i only have one ligt outsied on my terrain - that makes the shore beach scene really nice and bright along with great shadowing qualities on the objects themsleves - however i started to get a bit of an fps low - and i disabled the light - and i got back 10fps. Is there any way that when the scene is lit is not in view, that there is a command i can use to turn off the lights?

There's a new artist section on the GarageGames site - I think people would love to see what you're working on.

Is the light set as dynamic? Dynamic lights use significantly more resources than statics especially over large areas (check the Hints and Tricks section of the Modelers Guide for more details). If you switch the light to static you can still receive the cool overexposure effect.
Let me know if this helps!
