these tutorial's
and they worked real well for teahing me to export to dts, but when i try to either add color or even a jpg using the material editor nothing shows up on the crossbow in the game (and its colored/textured in max)
so is there a specific link i need to use for torque? i tryed putting the jpg in the texture path/folder in the above link with no luck, and even try just using the material form the editor to get some kinda color,
but nothing is working so i am at a loss , ill send you the max file if it would help to show you what im working on (im guessing i dont have somthing corectly set in the dts.cfg
thanks

Try putting the textures in the same folder the DTS file is in.

For the Torque, just make sure the texture file is in the same directory as the DTS. If the material is applied correctly in MAX, then it will show up in the engine.Joe

If you are looking for a tutorial I recommmend doing all the lessons that come with Photoshop (or on the Adobe website) or even buy a book on how to use all of its features (there are a lot of cool features that a lot of users hardly know about).
As for a Torque oriented tutorial on texture creation, I think I remember someone saying that they were working on one, but it might be a while before it appears.

If you know what you are doing in Photoshop (and your 3D program) you can create your own textures and apply them to your model with almost no effort. Understand your tools and understand the model that you are working on and you should be able to make something that you're happy with.If you are looking for a tutorial I recommmend doing all the lessons that come with Photoshop (or on the Adobe website) or even buy a book on how to use all of its features (there are a lot of cool features that a lot of users hardly know about).
