Looking to chat with the original tribes team members

Hey! Welp after e-mailing a few dead accounts for various team members, I was referred here by a friend who said most of dynamix turned into garage games. I'm a diehard fan of tribes 1 and EVERYTHING having to do with it. Ive combed through the .vols many a times searchign for new textures and abandoned ones never to see the light of day. (due to dev constraights I think). I've found the easter eggs in the maps the mappers left behind (the one on broadside is a great example, I think scott left that one). I'm very interested in the history of tribes, tribes extreme and the like. I think I did more research on tribes extreme today than ive ever done on any college term paper.
So, my goal in posting this is that i'll get the attention of a few of the texture artists and graphics people behind the game thats taken up my life for 7 years now. I am a graphics designer currently involved in a project having to do with T1. I'm responsible for all textures updates and things like that (its like some 400 pbmps I think, lol). I put out an APB for anyone who has the alpha or beta of tribes (as seen in the video floating around where the grenade launcher/plasma thing has a hand attached to the side) and the wrist laser). Id give a kidney to play that piece of history...geeze. haha.
I know I may be rambling but i'm excited to hear what comes of this. Thank you for your time and if you wish to discuss anything not here, e-mail works just fine.

P.S. heres a little taste of what i'm working on: 32 bit textures

Its interesting and one has to wonder why this skin only has certain parts avalible on it? I know I do...stuff like this is what interests me.

Edit: I fixed your links

Look at the credits in your Tribes manual

Yes I would compare the credits page to the list of GG employees, for the win!
As for the textures...friccckkkin sweeeeeet! Those look really good. If you haven't already I suggest you watch Legacy, I watch it probably once a week or so.

As for the textures... wow. Just... wow.

I'm a filthy heathen who doesn't own boxed copies of Tribes or Tribes 2. And yes, I am too lazy to look it up on google. Speaks worlds about how much game dev I'm gonna get done, doesn't it? As for the textures... wow. Just... wow.

And I whipped out the manual for tribes 1 and found a few people here on staff, so we'll see how that turns out.
Also, on the textures, I welcome suggestions and tips. Here are the ones iv'e done so far in comparison long format:

P.S.
SIG setup for my new skin. I used parts of teh T:V skin for inspiration which I mixed and blended around for a new look (save for the chest)

Currently finished textures, old and new comaprison. Yay for Pbmp's! (now using PNG's)

Thanks for teh feedback everyone! It's much appreciated. I just saw the Legacy vid, and wow...it's stuff like that which inspires me to continue what I'm doing with Tribes. Excellent camera work and the whole bit, just amazing. And I whipped out the manual for tribes 1 and found a few people here on staff, so we'll see how that turns out.

Woner why they choose PBMP instead of regular BMP's

PBMP was the image format that the engine used Phoenix BMP it allowed for an optimized Pallette in 256 colors...

Tribes 1 can use PNGs? That's news... PBMP was the image format that the engine used Phoenix BMP it allowed for an optimized Pallette in 256 colors...

Yeah andrew coded an external program that adds the functionality to use png files starting from weapon skins via game gui background and skies or ordinary textures to terrain. Almost everything can be spiced with nice 32bit gfx but custom player skins.

Never ever thought I'd see a post like this one.
I believe I'm the guy you're looking for, at least for the textures. I'm responsible for nearly all the building/weapon/character textures in tribes 1.
Looking back on it now...it really looks pretty miserable. I was like 20 when I worked on that stuff. I was part of Dynamix's "do whatever we can not to hire a profesional artist program" :) Thank god too...biggest break I ever got!
Good luck with the project...it would be fun to go back and rebuild tribes, I'm kind of envious. Your improvements are cool, but I'd start from
scratch if I were you :)

Here's a small preview of the new skies for everyone's enjoyment. We have a really talented sky artist. ;)
