Newb mac dev question!

Hi! everyone!

heh... well im not an utter mac newb but im thinking i should get one so i can develope a none windows version of my game ideas, but my main question is out of the current generation of mac hardware what is a good basic system i should get for both dev'ing on and testing on that would be a typical system that every day joe shmoe has in there home that would be using my games/software... and what would be a good set of dev tools for mac while im at it!

An eMac would do fairly well for basic dev and testing. I actually use a now five year old iMac for dev and testing. Runs Torque at 6 FPS... If you want something more along the lines of what your everyday user has, consider jumping up to an iMac G5. And if you want a computer that you can use for anything you want, get a G5 Tower. As far as dev tools go, they come with the computer.
