Suitability of TGE for flight sim space shooter

A friend and myself are exploring the possibility a space shooter in a full motion, all-axes flight simulator. The simulator itself is no problem, my friend is the operations manager of a major crane mnfr and has the design skills, vender contacts. We see sim movement by PCL controlled electric motors with the game visuals and mechanics by TGE. My question is, I guess, is TGE up to it? Any and all comments, suggestions, criticisms appreciated.

Several other people (Raverix, Zoom) have also made space-sims in Torque, but I do not know the links to their sites off-hand.
