Connect to dedicated server - questions

I'm running a dedicated server on my linux box (in my local network), and I can sucessfully connect, but only using the following command from my windows box:
torqueDemo_DEBUG.exe -connect 192.168.15.50
it works fine, but a few questions:
I noticed that if I just ran torque by itself and ran a search for Local Games, my server doesn't show up (i tried in 5 minute intervals, just to make sure). How come it won't show up? I tried running it with a '-lan', but it didn't work
Also, whenever I connect, I always end up with the name Poser (or some variant if another computer has joined the game). Is there any way to change this?
Thanks!
