Frequently Asked Questions >> Publishing FAQ
2. How will you market my game?
I think it would be cool if you included some screenshots when answering question #2 in the publishing FAQ. For example, you could show that photo posted of Lore in big print on the cover of a UK game magazine; a photo of the Orbz custom stand-up arcade game; Marble Blast on X-box; GISH award, etc. Visual demonstration that the way you (GG) market the game can/has worked.

The effort we invest in PR (news, reviews, interviews, awards), Business Dev. (publishing opportunities), events, partner promotions and the recognition based on the quality of GarageGames brand really is best illustrated by our accomplishments.
We tend to soft sell a bit because, while there is much GG adds in value to the marketing equation it all starts with stellar games (yes we want more great fun games). We'd also rather under promise and over deliver. We can't say we'll have your game bundled on every Mac OS X system shipped on the planet this year, but you do know that all those who discover Marble Blast Gold and then come to the Garage will have the opportunity to see your game when you ship it on the Mac.
I think we'll also need to illustrate - the first question as well:
1. Do I have to use the Torque Game Engine?
This answer is still true, but it would be accurate to say we're not sure why you wouldn't use Torque to make your game. The community around TGE is so collaborative, the stability of Torque makes it easier ship stable well polished products and as you build successful games you'll have a tech base that will continue to support new innovations and help you bring them to market. But most important so many opportunties are opening that will require porting to other hardware (and I'm not just talking PC platforms) TGE is poised to deliver support for these opportunities.
