I cna't see how releasing the exporter is any kind of violation of the license agreement. It's compiled code, so no source is out in the world, and it's a tool that can't be used without either torque or T2. If this is a problem, there are some dev teams out there who might be in toruble for hooking their modellers up with the exporter :)
If they say it's "ok" I will upload the DLL it to a public site and you can have at it.
That is, if maybe you'd think about dropping by the IRC channel, there is room for a modeller or 2 on some up and coming Torque games :)

Well, the first rev of the exporter was freely available, near as I could tell.I cna't see how releasing the exporter is any kind of violation of the license agreement. We want the exporters to be freely available so people can "mod" the demo when it comes out.Jeff Tunnell GG

So can we give this guy the exporter?

I would take Jeff's reply as a yes.

Dude, email me, I will hook you up, and once I see an approval, post the DLL on a site for mass consumption :)

I figured as much, but it is oh so helpful if the letters Y E S appear next to his or Rick's name in a post :)Dude, email me, I will hook you up, and once I see an approval, post the DLL on a site for mass consumption :)

Is the Milkshape exporter still compatible with the T2 engine?
I keep coming up with an error. It's something to the effect of, "can not import dts-24 model. Must be version 23 or before."
The dts-viewer (the toned-down showtool?) CAN read it, however.
Ack! there must be a simpler way! ;-)

I suppose I should have asked this before I put anyone through the trouble of sending it... :-)Is the Milkshape exporter still compatible with the T2 engine?

You can download it from our site... I don't know how old that version is though, sorry.

A related request which is hopefully not crossing the line would be for a model viewer. I would really appreciate some sort of simple viewer which allows you to see the model and animation in order to verify that models were exported correctly.

Download the Realm Wars demo and call the exe with "-show", that launches the "model viewer" ...

Thanks for that pointer. Unfortunately the download is pretty big and I only need the model viewer. Is there any way to provide a slimmer viewer? 25MB is alot for just viewing models, especially since I am dialup.

Someone could probably cut out the realmwars art assets and probably even some of the scripts out of the package to reduce download size.

And cut out sounds/music. The Realmwars download made reference to the inclusion of sound files but I couldn't find a version without sound available for download. I imagine that'll cut the download size a lot.
