Transparent PNG

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to make a PNG which preserves transparency using Photoshop?

I am using 5.5 but have absolutly no clue... I do know how to use Photoshop relativly well but transparent PNG's seem to escape me.

5.5 also seems to have problems you should find the PNG.8bi plugin from the 5 version and replace the one you have now that should fix most of your problem, it did for me. If you can't find it mail me and i will send it to you.

I have been using MAX for modelling till now but thought I would have a play around with MilkShape. Models work great in TGE except when I try to load in a PNG with an alpha channel Milkshape doesn't like it and just won't load the file... any ideas?

Thanks for that, they are now working fine. The next problem I have though is...I have been using MAX for modelling till now but thought I would have a play around with MilkShape.
