V12 - Cheating?

Greetings
As a gamer im kindof concerned about the
cheating that might arise in games useing the V12
engine, since its so easy (cheap) to get ahold of the
files they need to hack the engine/game alot of
hackers might attempt to hack it up good, and that
would hurt the different gameing communitys that games
useing this engine might spawn.
It would also mean _ALOT_ of patching from GarageGames
side perhaps? To patch up these hacks i mean.
Whats your opinion about this, i dont believe your
engine (or any engine for that matter) is hack-free.

executable was hacked (or patched). What is done
to prevent such things in the future?
Like this glide2x.dll hack to Tribes 1 that has been
flooting around, could that be done to Tribes 2 also?
Hacking the Graphics Drivers to cheat the game.

Ok, well that sounds alot better... but the Tribes 1executable was hacked (or patched). What is done
to prevent such things in the future?

p.s. when you spell a word such as game and you are going to add "ing" to the end of it, you need to drop the "e", fyi :)

Nisse- First off I would like to say that anything is hackable. Companies can do everything they can think of and it still can stop that one person or "jackass" from doing something that hurts us all. In order for something to be unhackable, is that a word, it would have to remain free from the internet so that nobody else could ever see it, plain and simple. In regards to the V12, like the other guy had said, the engine will not be relased with enough information pertaining to Tribes2 for it to matter, all of the net code will be gone as well as a ton of other things that make Tribes2. So remain calm and understand that GG releasing this engine is one of the best things that could ever happen to the gaming community. You will start to see a lot of ppl's imaginations running free and they will start releasing games that were only in their dreams, it is good for all. Thanks again GG.p.s. when you spell a word such as game and you are going to add "ing" to the end of it, you need to drop the "e", fyi :)

Well here's the thing. You have the source, so you can pick how you want to send packets. So how 'hackable' it is is 100% up to you.
