V12 - Licencing Question

by Tane Piper · in General Discussion · 03/14/2001 (2:27 am) · 1 replies

For our game, We are currently developing our own engine, but seeing this offer its something I don't think we can pass up. So what I am wondering, is can we Licence V12 to use it as a proof-of-concept/test engine while developing our own engine. Obviously, we would adhear to the licencing agreement (no back-engineering). We just need something that we can use to visualy test our AI routines, models, mission ideas, etc.

There is of course a chance that if we do use the V12 engine, we may find its better for our needs that writing our own technology, since we are building a single player 1st person team based shooter.

Thanks in advance.

There is nothing in the license that says you have to publish a game. You can use it for your own in-house demos, testing or proof-of-concept mockups. Only if the product and/or demo is intended for commercial release must it go through GG.
