About the Torque Game Engine in the CD of Book!

Hi,

I am thinking about buying the book, but I am with some doubts.

1) I read in other messages of this forum some problems with sound. This engine that comes in the CD of the book contain all of the functionalities in relation to sounds? Or some functionality doesn't exist?

2) I also read that the engine of the CD is a version of the torque engine 1.2 with some modifications. Does that mean that the one what I learned in the book on the use of the engine will be different from the official engine (with SDK), when I to buy this complete version of the Torque??

3) what do differentiate there is among the version of the engine in the CD and the official version 1.3 of the engine?

I should buy the book yes, but I would just like to know exactly that engine will be using with the book.

Thank you very much for the help!

The demo in the book has working sound, yes.

It is based on version 1.2, but it is very compatible with 1.3.

The only major difference is probably in the way precipitation is handled. I'm sure there are some other little things, but for the most part, 3D Game Programming All-in-One is up-to-date and is an excellent guide to Torque.

I found the book and I bought! Did the CD come separate, is it even so? I already began to read and I am liking a lot!

Be careful how you treat the rear cover (don't bend it) as the CDROM is just inside that in a thin cardboard sleeve.

Hello,
I just got the book and started reading. I bought Torque Saturday and I'm about to start using it. I've played with it just a couple minutes. I have a question:
Do you have to decompile the Torque Game demo and use it for your world editor?

Thanks.

Ok, scratch the last one. I've been working through the book, but I'm having problems with Chapter 3.
