Easier Editing Solution?

Didn't GarageGames say that they "promise an easier editing solution" for MarbleBlast Gold? Just wondering if they followed that up...
Also, I read somewhere that you can download a Java Based map-editor,
but it's only the source code, so you have to compile the application yourself.
Has anyone done this? I've never figured out how to create my own levels.

Aaah, so you have to use Quark to MAKE your own things to roll around on rather than EDIT existing ones. I thought that the editor was a way of building your own levels but it seems to be a means in which all the individual components are compiled. I don't think I have Quark - and I don't really think I have the time.
Sorry about the overly-logical approach...doing philosophy homework at the moment! Thanks for telling me anyway, it's probably a long and hard process, whereas me...I just like being creative!

Hmmm...I did try making a level on Marble Blast today. The annoying thing is that you can never start from a blank canvas, because you need the ball on the ground to actually see what you're editing. It doesn't give you any building blocks for the architecture either (such as different sized/coloured polygons, or slopes where you configure the shape, length and gradient...etc) All the architectural components seem to be ready made.Aaah, so you have to use Quark to MAKE your own things to roll around on rather than EDIT existing ones. It is rather easy to create a level in the editor.
Try looking at this.

Quark is the recommended solution for MBG - it is what we used when creating all the levels. Other .map creation programs might work, but all the normal limitations on DIF creation will be in effect (Valve220 format, etc).
I know some community members (Bob?) were working on a building-blocks style pack that might be a big help for those of you looking for a simpler solution.

I don't think that an easier editing solution was ever promised for MBG. I did say that if we make a new Marble game (or any other similar game) that we would like to have more elaborate editing tools available to the end users, as well as an easier way to install levels.Quark is the recommended solution for MBG - it is what we used when creating all the levels. It should be done pretty soon.
I have a nice long weekend so I will try to get it finished.

Don't know anything about a Java based map-editor. But I made a java based application which would ease the process of converting the .map files to Marble blast usable .dif files. Doubt that's what you're looking for though.
