Excellent TGE resource for all Mac devs!

I haven't exactly been keeping up, but it looks like this might be easily overlooked:
www.garagegames.com/index.php?sec=mg&mod=resource&page=view&qid=6393
There's quite a bit of discussion of Altivec, processor specific compiler flags, and (supposedly) a final definition of what/where the big slowdown in the mac code is. (And a promised fix rolled into head soon)
Edit - 1. Dang, you guys are fast. 2. I know I spelled excellent wrong. :P

And we're sure the Altivec texture blending optimizations aren't in 1.3?

They are not in 1.3, no. The resource is available, and with Kyle's instructions, easy to integrate if you wish though. These optimizations, or very similar ones, will make their way into a future update to Torque.

Ok, just wanted to double check. I already have my frame rate up to 50-80 (sometimes down to 25 though) so I'm wondering how much of an impact they'll have.

Do you mean "resource" as in something similar to the link I posted (and I just missed it) or do we need to contact the author or...?!?

Well that page is a "resource" but not a resource to get the Altivec code from. For that, I think we have to email Kyle. I'd like to fiddle with it, but if it's going to be in 1.4 I could wait...

Woops, sorry I thought the terrain blender was actually available in a resource. I'm at a dev conference right now, but if it's not, we can probably post it.

I've got a copy from Kyle and am (between doing other things) trying to get it to work. Currently there are a number of build errors I need to figure out. Kyle is looking at them too. I'm not using HEAD so I think that might be the problem, but they seem to be more syntax related than anything.

I do have the files and I can post them as a resource sometime next week if you guys would like, but things are very busy around here right now. I didn't post them as a resource originally because I sent them to GG at their request and figured it'd be in soon enough I wouldn't bother with the resource. No big deal, though, I'll post it next week sometime.

Don't worry I haven't forgotten about this, but a game release plus finals makes things slide a bit on the schedule. ;)
