Our first real art to appear in the art snapshot gallery!
Check it out!
Since we don't yet have comments in the snapshot area, please discuss here. I am sure Craig and Nauris would appreciate your feedback.

Is there some way to be notified when new art snapshots are posted?

Vernon: I think maybe having the art snapshot visible on the main page (say just under the dev snapshot) might be a more effective idea?

I'd like to stress the artwork is by NAURIS KRAUZE not me ;) He has just recently joined the project I'm runnign at the moment. Maybe Alex could change his thread topic to reflect this? I dont wanna take compliments where they aren't due. ;)Vernon: I think maybe having the art snapshot visible on the main page (say just under the dev snapshot) might be a more effective idea?

As soon as I saw it, I WANTED TO PLAY IT! Not only is the concept art amazing, but the concept itself just sounds like so much fun! I especially love the waterfalls coming from small islands in the air.

@Vernon: I'd like to have the art concepts show up below the normal snapshot gallery as Craig suggests, but there is some resistance to that here for some reason. For now I just plan to post in the forums whenever something new goes up. Gradually, the artists section will spread its roots throughout the site.

Oops, updated the thread topic :) Should have more closely read the description of the image.@Vernon: I'd like to have the art concepts show up below the normal snapshot gallery as Craig suggests, but there is some resistance to that here for some reason. Currently the snapshot only shows up under the Torque for Artists page, on the right hand side.

Why is there resistance Alex?

Because people dont want to see every nickle and dime concept or work-in-progress image that we as artists can come up with. As a whole the community prefers to use the main Snapshot as a method to internally market/promote your title or project to the community. It most definately is a fuzzy line that isn't well defined, but I can understand the need for caution as well.

The dev snapshot can still be used for this... I'm not at all saying that the art stuff should be in the dev snapshot, just that it would be nice to have both snapshots displayed on the main page.
I see no harm in this whatsoever; if people dont want to see what the artists are up to then they dont have to look... ;)

There is little distinction between the regular dev snapshot and artwork snapshot, so why should it matter? I have seen concept art in the regular snapshot section.... and artwork snapshot is supposedly allowed to have in-game models as well... so it's all the same. As long as everything is moderated then it should be fine to put the artwork snapshot under the regular snapshot. I mean, what's the point of hiding it where it's not as accessible? It would be just a tiny thumbnail anyway... more the merrier I say.

Thanks again.

Hey, thanks for comments, all. I think it was Craig's game idea of "snatching little buggers" that gave the impulse for a wacky world where everything goes. And, of course, his "make concepts as you please" attitude, nasty mistake of his, if you wanna know - giving card blanche and all that :)Thanks again.
