RTS Questions

Well, since there are no RTS forums for the RTS pack, I'll post my questions here.
According to the description, it allows people to run their own servers and clients via a common lobby... isnt there a way to have one server where people can join and leave at will in the game? If so, how? If not, so much for me buying this bugger.. lol.

Ah, I already looked through my subscriptions, it is not an option there at all. Maybe you must buy the RTS pack before being able to see that forum? Anyways, it is possible, but it is not that way out of the box? Thanks then, I'll wait and hope someone makes a resource that will allow this to happen. Once that happens' I'll buy the RTS pack.. It looked great and sounded great, until I found out about this.. ouch!Anyways, thanks for answering.

Ack, i missed the "once you bought the pack" section :) anyways, There's no way Im going to use valuable monies when the RTS pack went the one of two ways modern RTSes have gone :) Anyways, thanks again.

Yes, you can do that. Right now we have the lobby system so that it's easy to spawn everyone's units at the same time. But it's a matter of changing a few lines of code to let people join and leave at will.

And to answer your question, yes it's possible...in fact we just got through doing it (integrating to our persistent world). It's not fully functional yet, but we've got most of it ironed out.
It's not an "out of the box" feature, but the pack is very, nay, I should say extremely modifiable...I'd go so far as to say it's easier to figure out how to modify than the underlying engine is for sure.
