Model scaling

I was curious if the appearance of the models being so "small" in relation to the terrain is a design decision (performance? ease of use for large size unit groups?), or simply the way the models were created and imported. It might well be an illusion due to the camera perspective change from 1.3 as well.

The models are actually all full size, AFAIK, with the apparent change being a propert of the camera perspective.

Yes, the models are all normal size Torque characters, and the terrain uses the standard square settings. The models move more slowly than typical FPS example characters though, because their animations are all walking, but of course the movement speed is easy to change (datablock value).
