by Marcin Zygmunt · in General Discussion · 11/11/2004 (3:09 am) · 5 replies

Hello

Is there another book that covers TGE ? (i mean something like 3d game programming all in one)

Can someone give some links to good tutorials about TGE ?

Thanks.

I dont know about books, i dont read books, you just got torque a week ago, if you want to check some single player examples try the sp_starter kit out, there is an added.txt in the example directory with all the changes i made and everything is commented with //ace and //endace or just //ace. if you do a "find" for ace, you will find my comments very easy.

The best book is the code snippits area, just start doing tuts.

Take a look at 3D Game Programming All in One by Ken Finney.

Marcin, there's no other book which covers Torque programming right now, though there is one on art. It doesn't help you right now, but just so you know, over the next year several more books using Torque will be released, including The Essential Guide To Torque, by Ed Maurina. You can check out rough-draft previews of a few chapters from that book in the link provided.

Theres also an earlier free version of EGTGE, here. I would recommend picking up a copy of the new updated version of EGTGE(when its released), it looks like its turning out to be exactley what it title says - Essenstial.
