What is it with 3D modellers?

Hehehe.. I often need 3d models to try things out in my game tests etc. But when I look for good looking models I often cant find good ones.

Then I look on the net, and there are a billion modellers out there doing great great models for mods etc.

I must be doing something wrong when I approach people, because Ive offered money to modellers before and got little response.

Is there something I'm missing. I mean, ok, most of the time I dont pretend the models will be used in a game, but frankly, theyve got more chance of ME using them in a game than most mods (in that Ive at least got a history of shipping games).

So, is it my approach, am I being too harsh? Are my requirements just too picky do you think?
