Dialog, how it's done with TGE?

by Romano Del Vecchio · in Torque Game Engine · 11/05/2004 (3:06 am) · 7 replies

As you already know my intention is to create RPG. What is most common pattern for dialogs in Torque game?
Scripting?

Search NPC in the resources link

There already is a defult MessagePopupDlg.gui in common/ui

the easyest way is to use triggers in game for your dialogs, and you dont need to make the dialog for ai only , with triggers you can use the dialog for anything ai, signs, books,etc.

if you want an example , i use this system in my sp_starter kit

I see you are not a torque lic owner yet, the sp_starter kit may just talk you into it

Quality dialog is best accomplished with a combination of scripting and minor engine changes. From your other posts, I know you are attempting to become licensed, so wait until then, and then try these two links. here and here

@others
Don't cap on someones spelling, unless you know for a fact they are a native english speaker. I for one am quite pleased that anyone from Croatia (or anywhere else) is able to write in my native language clear enough that I can understand them. I damn sure couldn't do as well in their language.

@erik
i think the people in question were capping on their own spelling problems, but maybe I was wrong lol.
