Model exported from milkshape has artifacts under water

When I export a model from milkshape with multiple groups(needs to be that way for texturing purposes), I get the above rendering error under water. It isn't too obvious in that still shot, but when he runs it looks like he's got saran wrap around his leg.
If I regroup all of the parts in milkshape, the problem is gone, but I've got the arms and legs using a seperate texture than the torso and head.
Any ideas on this?
BTW: using Torque Release_1_3_0 and 1.3 of the ms2dts exporter
I suppose I could combine all of the groups into one, and adjust the uvw maps so the two 256x256 textures are in one new 512x512, but I'd still like to know if anyone has ran into this and/or has any ideas as to how this could be fixed.
