A quick thankyou to Joe Maruschak

This is just a thankyou thread to Joe for the help he has given me on getting a very tricky exporter problem sorted out. I felt it important to mention it formally on the boards as he has been extremely useful and saved me weeks of tinkering by sharing his extensive knowledge of the DTS exporter. Thankyou very much Joe :).

Basically, what i gleaned was a few simple things.
1. Dont use physique, use com_skin.
2. (generally) if it works in show tool, it should work in-game, if not, the problem is somewhere else.
thats about it really, there are a few other things like the hirachy and stuff but those were the 2 major 'simple' things i learned from Joe
hope it helps some,

Well since this is the official "Thanx Joe" thread i might add my thanx to. Joe really helped me out with some good examples and taking the time to take a look at my model and pointing out my errors, giving me some good guidelines on how to do stuff. Where is this com_skin and why is it supported instead of skin/physique ?

Shawn you don't need Com-Skin, Skin that comes with Max4 is perfectly well suported. Don't know about the skin version that comes with Max3 though... Physique is also suported but doesn't work with models build in one mesh, segmented models is no problem.
