Is Torque Demo Actually Torque

I have been confused about Torque and the engine, when I tried to search for the Torque Engine for download, it is a file that is not recognizable by Windows, should I re-install the whole thing and I am not allowed to install Torque Engine EXE
Secondly I have noticed that we are told to download and save the Torque Demo to our computers and edit it , just for educational purposes I wanted to know is the Torque Engine different from the demo, or is the engine created from the demo?
After playing with the DEMO I no longer have access to the Torque Demo, is there a CD that we can have just in case the site has problems and we can not connect? I do not know what happened yesterday and today but I could not connect to GarageGames for 24hrs. Thank God it's up now but in the event of site troubles it would be great to have a CD available, so that we may play with the engine off line.
I hope I can log on to the demo soon, I was learning quite a bit. Thanks
I am not allowed to edit the title but after reading the title I wanted to put:

Answer really depends on what you mean by "Toque Engine"? If you compile the Torque Engine, add the script files from the demo you get the demo. So in that way Yes the Demo is actually the Torque Engine in action. If you mean "is the demo all I get for my 100 bucks" then no. It isn't. When you purchase the Torque engine you also get the source code!
Did I make things clear or just muddy the water?
