Setting up SuSe 9.1 as a server?

I've never used Linux before and want to start learning server-client interaction so I thought it'd be a good time to kill two birds with one stone.
I've got an old box lying around that I put SuSe 9.1 on and would like to set it up as a dedicated server to test with as I work on my game project with Torque.
Anyone got an "idiot-steps" link or guide for setting up/compiling a Torque dedicated server on a SuSe 9.1 box for someone who has never used Linux before? :)
Thanks!

I'm asking for help compiling and setting up a Torque server - that wouldn't go in the public area would it?

I think a good bet would be to read the docs provided by GarageGames, and combine it with some basic linux compiling/building tutorial. That's what I did.
If it's a default torque build, it shouldn't be too hard.

Seems like I didn't read the last paragraph.I think a good bet would be to read the docs provided by GarageGames, and combine it with some basic linux compiling/building tutorial. That's what I did.

I tried to set up Suse 9.1 once, and it's alot easier than the other dists, in my opinion. Redhat comes close but it's so limited. Good luck with finding a guide.
