Map2dif...

Hey all...I was wondering if the dif file generated from the TSE version of map2dif is compatible with TGE?
I'm running into a problem where my old version of map2dif (from TGE) generates a dif file that is not acceptable for use with the TSE.
I have been attempting to add TSE as a separate "game" under QuArK, but I have, as yet, been unsuccessful. So I was wondering if using the newer exporter would generate a dif that is universally compatible across both engines...but I figured I'd ask before I break my working TGE setup. ;)
Thanks in advance!

I'm still digging the engine...I just keep mucking with QuArK to try to get it to allow both TGE and TSE to coexist.
Any help in that department would be greatly appreciated...I believe it involves editing the defaults.qrk file. I've had limited success with this in that I've been able to add TSE as an option below Torque in the menu. The only problem is...once the menu item is selected...it does not allow you to choose any OTHER option...TSE becomes the only working exporter. :(
Slowly but surely...

Thanks, Ben...I actually ran a quick test shortly after I posted the message and found that the TGE chokes on difs made with the TSE map2dif. Thanks for the reply, though!I'm still digging the engine...I just keep mucking with QuArK to try to get it to allow both TGE and TSE to coexist.

It's unlikely that TGE and TSE DIF formats will co-exist well. There will be divergence of format as we add more features to the various engines.

Lame. Perhaps there's a way to make a batch file that's controlled by a command line switch..?It's unlikely that TGE and TSE DIF formats will co-exist well. There will be divergence of format as we add more features to the various engines.
