Can I do this with out moding the c++ code?

I was thinking about buying the TGE but I dont know c++ (I do know some C). I have a game idea where you pick up coins to get points and you solve some puzzels, run from bad guys ect would I need to do any thing to the c++ code to make a game like that?

Depends if you're willing to learn or not, in my opinion.
