Compiling errors

by Hans Van Halteren · in Torque Game Engine · 08/27/2004 (4:47 am) · 7 replies

Hi There,

Just downloaded and installed torque sdk.
I also downloaded OpenAL as suggested from the Torque site.

I installed:

MinGW
MSYS
Eclipse

(in this order)

Then I downloaded the eclipse project file that I ran into on these forums http://www.garagegames.com/index.php?sec=mg&mod=resource&page=view&qid=4948

I did what the readme (and additional replies) said.

Eclipse started compiling but ended with about
6 errors and 94 warnings

Is this known ?

The software did create torquedemo.exe and it runs.

Please help as I do not (yet) know a lot about compilers and torque...

Hans

Don't cross post. This really annoys people. This is where the only post should have been.

I don't use Eclipse but i'm sure someone will come by an help you out.

Can you post the errors you received? warnings are normal, I get a fair amount when I compile using commercial tools like VS6/VS7

The following errors I got.

I have to say that I first got about 30 errors. Then I read the minor update that needed to be done (replace some project files) at http://www.garagegames.com/index.php?sec=mg&mod=resource&page=view&qid=4948
I recompiled again and got a leftover of 6 errors.

Thanks for your help !!

Hans

I Reinstalled all again to find out if there is something wrong in the files.
I also installed the project file (see first message above).
Eclipse compiled and gave 52 errors.
What is going on ?? Seems a problem using the audio files... (I can't paste all lines due to limitations of this forum)

I noticed that the called file: codec.h is in my D:\Torque\lib\vorbis\include\vorbis folder. Could it be that I need to set a path somewhere ? in the errors it says it cannot find file: vorbis/codec.h

Ok, update (I just keep on talking while you in 'the States' wake up :) )

I did one thing not. I saw that the files that had to be placed in the mk folder and in the tools folder were already there and were newer then the files in the project file (see start of this threat). So I did not replace them.
I started from scratch and replaced them. Now I only have about 5 errors left (see 4th post in this threat) and for the first time the compile went all the way till the end. All seems ok eventhough there are 6 errors.

If everything works, what's the problem?
