Hello, everyone.
My name is james, but my name here is dingosmoov. I wanted dingo, but it was already taken :P
Anyways, I just purchased an indy license for the Torque Game Engine, and I went ahead and purchased the Torque Shader Engine.
I also went to borders and purchased 3D Game Programming All in One by Kenneth C. Finney. (thick book!)
Let me tell you right now, I have no experience in coding in C++ but figured this is the best way to learn. I am a fairly good artist though(so hopefully my graphics will make up for my lack of coding skills). Once I finish the book, I'll probably be pestering you guys a lot:)
Anyways, just wanted to give a shout out!
Peace,
dingo

Make sure to check out the forum for the book "3D Game Programming All in One". You may encounter a few errata in the book and many of them have been posted. And feel free to post an errata you come across, it would help me tremendously!
Thanks,
Joe

Thank you Ben and Joseph for the welcome it is truly appreciated. Unlike the threatening nature of some in this community.

As a paid member, you're helping GG, and since GG is helping me, you're indirectly helping me. Most people understand that (if only intuitively) and try to help when they can. The friendlier these forums are, the more Torque licenses will sell -- and the better the engine will become for all of us.
If you made all those purchases at once, it sounds like you have some decent resources to get started (though I make no assumptions). Caligari's GameSpace ($300) and the Synapse Lighting Pack ($50) are two additional resources you might want to look into, if only to fool around with.
Don't worry about your lack of C++, there's an amazing amount you can do with the higher level Torque script, which cuts through C++ like a hot knife through butter. Start with and learn to master that then fool around with the actual C++ source code when you're ready and have taken Torque script to the limits.
Good luck.

Yeah, welcome. Best advice is to always search the forums first, google second, when you have a question or hit a road-block, before posting a new thread. There's a good chance someone out there has had the same question, and it'll deflect a lot of potential fire from you. "can tork be uzed 2 mak MMORPAHG?" is definite flame-bait.
