Looking for programmer / AI programmer

Some time ago I developed Nitro. It was a school project made in 5 weeks time with 2 people. To our surprise this game got downloaded 20 000 times and was actually played online. It died out becuase of bad networking issues, bad car handling, poor graphics etc etc. But becuase of the many fanmails I got from people asking to please not let it die and actually do something with it, I recently decided to make a commercial version of it. Offcourse not the same game, just the same concept (racing, shooting, etc). I had a good codebase and now (after 2 weeks) tons of stuff are added (better car handling, more weapons and powerups, fixed networking code, better graphics (in progress), basic bots, radar/mini map, lighting pack, etc etc) and graphics are already starting to look promising. This is the point where I could use some help tough (I'm doing this on my own right now).

I'm looking for a bit of an alround programmer, who at least take care of the AI part (I have some basic bots driving around, but they're no competition and they're the dumbest bots ever ;) ), but preferably can help out in some other areas too (like do a little scripting work, make some engine changes/fixes,...)

Like I said, its a commercial project. (You will have to sign an NDA). I offer a percentage of the profits (to be discussed). However, I'll most likely self-publisch, so don't expect to get rich quickly, in fact, expect very little except to get your name out.

If interested please mail to ward at multimediaportfolio dot net

Nobody? Oh, common, I can get this project done within a 3 (maybe 4) month timeframe. But it'll be useless without some AI oppenonets.

If you want to see a demo of what I have already, just ask.

Ward worst case you could wait for the Torque AI pack. Assuming you are using Torque.

Hmm... i don't think the AI pack would help me, but you never know, I'll defenetly check it when its out.

"All" I would need is the current bots (i have some dumb ones driving around) extended to do the following:

-slow down if there's a car driving in front of them, even try to avoid them
-if they're stuck, drive like 5 meters backwards and try again
-if they're really stuck, use the reset function of the cars
-attack oponents (perhaps I can even take care of that myself, I have a pretty good idea how to take care of that)
-use powerups if available, perhaps even try to get some powerups if they're needed (like health)

and a couple of other "simple" things (yeah i use quotes becuase i'm well aware of the amount of work "simple" stuff can take ;) )

I can cover pretty much every other aspect of the game, just think I'd loose way too much time trying to figure out AI.

Hmm, Im a bit outta touch with scripting, having left torque alone for far too long, but I am getting back into it. However, this stuff doesn't appear too difficult. Drop me a line by email or MSN with some more details on what you need, and I'll see what I can do.
