New At Gamming

HI

I LOVE PLAYING GAMES AND I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO DESIGN A GAME OF MY OWN. I HAVE DONE MY ANIMATION AND THATS IT...... I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF PROGRAMMING AT ALL OR ANY OTHER THING AS REGARDS TO DESIGNING GAMES...... I REALLY SERIOUS ABOUT LEARNING HOW TO DESIGN GAMES...... I WOULD APPRECIATE IF YOU GUYS TO TELL ME AS TO WHERE I COULD START AND WHAT I WOULD NEED INSTALLED AND STUFF TO DEVELOP A GAME.

    Thanks to an abundance of tools, making game is getting easier all the time. Making a good quality game and competing with the AAA titles requires a good team though, so you might want to concentrate on an area you are good at(i.e., Modeling) and have your team handle the other areas, such as coding.

    There are applications such as as Blender that let you create a whole game within a single application(sans resources such as textures and custom scripts), so you might start there and grow into Torque.

    In any project, it's a good idea to have a director, whether it's yourself or someone you pay to do it. A director doesn't have to have specific skills, but he or she should have a good overview of what the project entails and how to implement it. A director has to motivate and set realistic goals for the team. A director probably spends most of his time settling squabbles though. :)
