I am planning on purchasing TGe however when you buy the INDIE license do you get the source code the game engine including source code of the render engine and everything or do you get an .exe where you make new missions, maps, gui, (basically like a mod).

edit: I am also planning to use the torque game engine to create a game kind of like star wars jedi knight 2: jedi outcast but completely different theme. Is this possible. It would be a FPS with third person view supported.

Thanks, So the only difference from the commercial purchase is that you have to have the logo on the startup and in the about box.edit: I am also planning to use the torque game engine to create a game kind of like star wars jedi knight 2: jedi outcast but completely different theme. If you want to make another kind of application software with TGE, you need a commercial license

...and you can only make games, and games related tools, iirc with the indie license. If you want to make another kind of application software with TGE, you need a commercial license

I'm planning to make a game and possibly tools for that game so players can make custom maps and stuff. like mod making abilities. of course mods will be made with torque script.

You can release binary versions of tools like map2dif to support your game without upgrading. It's only if you're making a "real" tool, like a standalone map editor, that you'd need a license.
EDIT: Umm. GG needs to work on its internal communications. Ben was wrong. JT

I seem to recally quite a few people voicing their disagreement with that one when GG gave us yet another gift :)

Erh, Ben, wasn't one of the points of the new indie license that the GG splash page is now mandatory ? I seem to recally quite a few people voicing their disagreement with that one when GG gave us yet another gift :)

Ben Garney: Section 4 of the Indie EULA states:-Quote:(b) Licensee agrees to display a full screen Torque Game Engine logo in the start up sequence of any game created and released with the Engine. The Commercial EULA does not include this restriction, so that's where the original poster got the idea from. ;)
(c) Licensee agrees to include in the "About" box or in the credits screen: (i) a link to www.garagegames.com, and (ii) the wording "This game powered by the Torque Game Engine."
